Changes to SCAPE Rate
On 19th May 2026, the UK Government announced that the SCAPE (Superannuation Contributions Adjusted for Past Experience) discount rate to be used in valuing public service pension schemes has changed.
This change directly impacts the actuarial factors that public service pension schemes use in some of their calculations such as transfers and early/late retirement. Now that the SCAPE rate has been confirmed, the Government Actuary’s Department will produce updated actuarial factors.
If you have recently requested a Cash Equivalent Transfer Value or a Cash Equivalent Value for divorce purposes you may experience a delay as a result of this change. If your transfer/divorce calculation is on hold whilst we wait for new factors, we will be in touch to let you know.
Please be advised that the benefit calculators on your My Pension+ account have not been updated with the new factors. They are estimated figures and should not be relied on for any financial decisions.
We will do our best to minimise any disruption to our members and appreciate your patience.
