Tax Code Changes

Following the 2025 Autumn Budget, we have received a number of tax code changes from HMRC. This change may cause a reduction in your net pension payments. If your net pension has been reduced due to a change in tax code, you should in the first instance, contact HMRC on 0300 200 3300 for any information on why it has been changed. Please ensure you have your National Insurance (NI) Number to hand as they will require this to verify you.

The NESPF can only use the tax code provided to us by HMRC. Our payroll closes on the 8th of each month, and any codes received after this date will be in effect from the following month's payment. The Pension Pay Dates for 2025/26 can be seen here.

If your net pension changes by more than 50p, you will be issued a payslip which will show the tax code that has been used and the amount of tax deducted or refunded that month. If the tax amount has an 'R' next to it, this is a refund and your net pension may have increased. Payslips can be accessed by logging into MyPension+.
